Description of the Project

ILRU and Qwelmínte Secwépemc formed a partnership to support the implementation of Secwépemc law and governance. Qwelminte Secwépemc Office is a non-profit organization, acting as the administrative secretariat for a collective of certain Secwépemc communities and their respective Campfire / Divisions. Drawing on many materials, including ones previously created by ILRU and the Shuswap Nation Tribal Council, this project involves research and discussion about Secwépemc narratives and Secwépemc legal principles of co-management and dispute resolution.
