Dr. Val Napoleon’s talk is entitled, “Contested Legal Personalities: Indigenous Women.” Dr. Napoleon explores how the combined conditions of violence as well as the various responses to sexualized, gendered violence have shaped the present day legal personhood of Indigenous women and girls from an Indigenous legal perspective and from a Canadian legal perspective.
